Natural Discovery is a young company that was set up in October
2002. We have been selling short breaks and home products since
May 2003. People often think that being a responsible tourist begins
when we are abroad. At Natural Discovery, however, we are promoting
quality short breaks and providing a greener holiday, 'closer to
home'.
Initially we focused on developing Natural Discovery breaks in
South East England and, in particular, the Sussex area. We have
now expanded our breaks to the rest of the UK.
Alongside our breaks development we are also currently expanding
our range of complimentary home products. |
Accommodation

In partnership with local people Natural
Discovery is developing 'positive networks' of different types of
sustainable accommodation, suppliers and service providers. These
form clusters in different areas, giving a range of accommodation
for people visiting that area to choose from.
There are three different types of accommodation that are being
developed by Natural Discovery.
- Breaks in existing holiday accommodation, from
small holiday lets to large hotels.
- Environmentally friendly renovations of redundant
buildings.
- Newly designed Natural Discovery Lodges, based
on an elemental theme. For more details see New

Product
Development |

To increase our range of home products we are currently
researching different suppliers and their products. We are particularly
interested in any local product manufacturers using local materials.
If you think that you have a product that we may be interested
in please get in contact. It could be anything from a small gadget
that we sell through our website to a large piece of furniture that
we include in one of our accommodations.
Natural Discovery are also teaming up with local people to develop
product ideas - for example with Battle Cider to recycle used whisky
barrels into garden composting units.

Our core team at Natural Discovery has a strong professional
background in business development, tourism management, marketing
and market research, environment and sustainability, and buildings
operation and design.
As part of building relationships and working with our partners
and suppliers, we have made our skills, expertise and contacts available
so that they can be used in a mutually beneficial way.

including - Guildford Borough Council, South East AONB Sustainable
Tourism Project, the Green Tourism Business Scheme, Action In Rural
Sussex and the Eco-Schools Initiative.

It is now important for us to get the
word out there and raise the profile of Natural Discovery. We have
been working with various media organisations.
